Huge volumes of printed material, lightning fast, world-class
FINA is the international federation of water sports, the global home of aquatics. (Now known as World Aquatics!) It represents 6 aquatic sports on 5 continents, with 209 international federations included. Their work is not only about competitions, but also about learning, advancing the community - and the profession. As a permanent partner, we are involved directly or indirectly every year in branding the venues. We typically supply textiles, mesh, and boards for FINA events.
The most characteristic feature of sporting events such as these are that we cover a great number of large surfaces, and the projects are carried out on short deadlines due to the alternation of sporting events in the facilities.
Event "rebranding": printing & decoration
Our job is the complete rebranding to match the ongoing event. We must make quick decisions, with high risk factors, as in each case we are dealing with thousands of square meters of printing.
For this we require international sourcing, a large printing capacity and, above all, a dedicated and skilled project team.
As a complex service provider, our company handles the sourcing of raw materials, the preparation of graphic files, printing, and on-site installation. We require the attention and professionalism of all team members to ensure perfect execution, which is why each print is proofed in several rounds before it is printed and released.
Printing process
The quality control of the production process starts with the project manager, then it continues with the graphic designers who prepare the artwork for printing, after which production planning checks the material specifications and plans the required printer capacity along several factors. The next stage of the process is printing, where our machine operators check the material before and during printing to prevent possible errors. If everything is found to be in order, the final touches and checks are carried out by our finishing team.
Printing materials
We use standard products, and we strive to use more sustainable materials whenever possible and where there is a demand. All our waste is collected selectively at very high standards.
For FINA events we mostly use PVC mash, tarps, and canvases for branding the surfaces. After printing, the materials are heat-sealed on our site.
Occasionally we need 20-30 people to fold a large mesh. Our jobs for sporting events are as dynamic as the events for which we provide the materials. They require quick responses and teamwork.
