Sizing of illuminated signs and boxes
Illuminated signs and illuminated boxes play an extremely important role in the visual appearance of businesses, as they not only convey information but also attract attention and increase the visibility of the business or brand.
How to choose the right illuminated signage?
Choosing the right signage is key to visibility and brand image, so it's worth thinking about signage:
- type of signage,
- size,
- and the use of materials.
These will all depend largely on the placement of the product and the opportunities presented by the environment.
We offer 3D lettering, also known as box lettering, as well as advertising signs, in both illuminated and non-illuminated versions.
Advertising elements are made of aluminium, stainless steel, plexiglass, mica, wood and combinations of these materials.
This 3D boxes can take many shapes, not only letters. So it can be as well used for wayfinding pourposes as for commercial goals.
The illuminated 3D boxes are available in different sizes, in total 8 sizes.
3D signage profile 01
- size: from 200 mm
- thickness: from 20 mm, most often 50-100 mm
- material: aluminium
- surface treatment: sintering, occasionally painting

The front panels of aluminium box letters are milled, the side walls are formed by bending and welding. There is also the option of a backless version or a "box in a box" design that fits shoebox-style. On-site, the letters are attached through the backing from the side. For the backless version, threaded fasteners on the front or side panel ensure secure attachment.

The aluminium box letters are made with a Plexiglas backing, for larger sizes a perforated aluminium backing and Plexiglas inlay can be used. In the case of coloured Plexiglas or foiled versions, or with coloured LED modules (RGB control required), the colour of the lighting can be varied as required.
Fixed directly to the surface or frame with spacers. A matt surface base plate is recommended in some cases.

The aluminium box letters are made with a Plexiglas front and aluminium closures, which provide a 25-40 mm cover. For larger sizes, a clear Plexiglas hanger is required on the front. There are a wide range of lighting and colouring options for the lettering: the front can be made of coloured Plexiglas or opal Plexiglas with coloured foil.
The lighting can be white, colorful, variable or even smart LED. Using perforated or printable foil, the day and evening appearance can be different.
Fixing is via backplate to surface or frame.

The aluminium box letters are made with a Plexiglas front and plastic (elkamet) closures with a 3 mm cover. The front panel is available in a wide choice of colours, either coloured Plexiglas or digitally printed opal Plexiglas with a laminated film.
The lighting can be white, coloured, variable or smart LED. With perforated foil, the day and evening look can be completely different. Mounting is via backplate, surface or frame.
Profile 12 is recommended for smaller sizes, Profile 4 for larger sizes, the 3 mm plexiglass retaining elkamet may be an issue for thicker versions

The box letter is made of aluminium with an overhanging plexiglass front, which is stabilised with side fixings, stubs or back-slit clear plexiglass. The faceplate is available in a wide range of colours, and can be made of coloured plexiglass or digitally printed, cascaded opal plexiglass.
The lighting can be varied: white, colour, smart LED, or even with perforated foil, the day and night appearance can be different. Mounting is via backplate, directly on the surface or on the frame. The overhang of the plexiglass creates a faint shadow on the edge of the front panel, creating a unique visual effect.
Profile 12 is recommended for smaller sizes and Profile 4 for larger sizes.

- lighting: white or coloured LED modules, front and/or side
The back panel is made of aluminium with a small slate, while the front panel and the curved or cut slates are made of Plexiglas. The plexiglass dome is attached to the slate. For front lighting, the envelopes are made of light-blocking Plexiglas or painted; it is strongly recommended to paint the rear 30 mm of the envelope to obtain a homogeneous light. The faceplates and cloaks are made of coloured or foiled opal Plexiglas, although the shape of the cloaks limits the use of foiling.
As with profile 4 or 5, the day and night appearance can be customised with a variety of foils and LED modules.
Fixing is via backplate, directly to the surface or frame. For smaller sizes, Profile 12 is recommended for front or side lighting, for larger sizes Profile 4 is recommended for front lighting only.

- surface treatment: back and front sintered, rarely painted, front and plexiglas painted
- lighting: white or coloured LED modules, front and partly side
The combination of an aluminium backplate and mantle and a Plexiglas template-bent frontplate ensures the durability and aesthetics of the font. The plexiglass dome is attached to the moulding, while the plexiglass dome is located inside the aluminium box, making the moulding part aluminium and part plexiglass. The faceplates and mantles can be made of tinted or foiled opal plexiglass, however, due to the shape of the mantle, foiling may be limited.
As with Profile 4 or 5, you can achieve almost any day or night look with different foils and LED modules.
Fixing is via the backplate, directly to the surface or frame. For smaller sizes, Profile 12 is available in front- and side-lit versions, while for larger sizes, Profile 4 (front-lit only) is recommended.
3D signage profile 12 (11,13)
- size: 100-600 mm
- thickness: 30, in rare cases 20 mm (+3 mm optional)
- material: plexi
- surface treatment: back and/or front and/or front panel painting
- lighting: white LED strip front and/or side and/or rear (maximum two out of three)
The letters or logos are made of solid plexiglass, grooved at the back for LED strips. After the lighting is installed, the groove is filled with resin. Depending on the direction of the lighting, the back, front or fascia may be partially or fully painted. Depending on the size and shape, an additional 3 mm thick semi-opaque plexiglass may be required, which may also be coloured.
Coloured lighting is available with prefabricated or digitally printed coloured foil laminates on the front panels, while the slate can be illuminated with white light. Colour backlighting is also possible with extra backlighting.
Fixing is by means of threaded stems cut in plexiglass or spacers. No lighting possible in smaller sizes, for larger sizes Profile 8 is recommended.
